Around the world in April 2026

🚀 From Utrecht to Dallas and from Wassenaar to Thessaloniki: this month, Siip was in places where the future of digital identity, leadership, and technology is not just discussed, but shaped.

🗺️ Utrecht: at the table discussing the EDI system. Ramon van Ingen and Laurens de Lange were invited to join the ICTU community, which oversees the rollout of the European Digital Identity Wallet. They attended the meeting on the Large Scale Pilots EUDI Wallet, with valuable contributions from Gemme Schepers and Rob Brand, among others. Thanks to Mireille Major. Work is underway on the follow-up to Digid.

🗺️ Dallas: the sports world is ready for it. At the World Cup Innovation Summit, it became clear that the American sports market is ripe for a serious conversation about fan identity. The timing, with the World Cup approaching, is perfect. The will is there too. But what Remco Voorhorst remembers most from such a trip are the people.

🗺️ Wassenaar: leadership starts with providing direction. At CEO/CIO in Tech 2026, it was confirmed: a strong engineering culture emerges when technical excellence is combined with autonomy and ownership. And that under pressure, leadership doesn't start with technology, but with knowing who you are, with courage, humanity, and purpose. Our values were reaffirmed there. Proud of our team!  

🗺️ Thessaloniki: digital identity in practice. At the Casino Operations Summit, Hans van der Veen and Remco Voorhorst demonstrated what a reusable, verified digital identity means in practice. Not a theoretical story, but a working solution. Globally, developments around ID Wallets are progressing rapidly: service and convenience converge with compliance and security, in both the digital and physical worlds.
