Privacy Policy

This privacy statement is for users of the Siip app or a 'trusted by Siip' app.

Siip Custodian B.V. and its group companies (here inafter collectively referred to as: Siip) offer a wide range of services. All services are based on the principle that you have full control over your personal data. The user always retains control over the data that is shared. This privacy statement applies to the Siip app and the “trusted by Siip” apps offered by Siip. Due to the nature of the Siip app's services, Siip shares data with other parties at your request and with your explicit consent. Siip ensures that no unnecessary data is shared.

In this privacy statement, you can read how we handle your personal data when you use the Siip app or software. It explains what data we process and the influence you have over it. You can rest assured that we handle your personal data with the utmost care.
Please read the Privacy Statement before making any choices.

Our promises

1. Who is responsible for processing your data?

Siip Custodian B.V., located at Eekwal 16 in Zwolle, is the data controller for the processing of your data in the Siip app. Your data in the Siip app is processed by Siip to create your Siip account and to provide the identification service. Once your personal data is shared with an affiliated company with your consent to provide you with access to that company's services, that company becomes the data controller for the processing of your data. In that instance, Siip acts as the data processor.

2. What data is used via the (Trusted by) Siip App and how?

The (Trusted by) Siip app is one of the apps offered by Siip. Siip uses a digital vault on your smartphone, which is populated with your data. We only share your personal data with an affiliated company with your consent, so that they know who you are. The specific details regarding which data is stored securely and encrypted in the vault, how and why this data is used, and how long we retain it are defined for the (Trusted by) Siip app. You can view which data is stored on your device and manage your preferences in your Siip app profile.

3. Use of personal data for the performance of the agreement

What is personal data?

Personal data is information that relates to you. Examples of personal data include your name, email address, age, and date of birth. Siip creates a Siip account for every user of the app. To create this account, Siip requires the following personal data from you:

This data is necessary to provide the service in accordance with the app's terms and conditions. Once you have provided this data and we have verified it, it is stored securely and encrypted, along with your Siip customer number. When you delete your Siip account, your personal data will be destroyed by Siip. See below for instructions on how to delete your Siip account.

4. Use of personal data with your consent

Obtaining and storing in the Siip app

For certain activities related to the services provided by an affiliated company, Siip may require additional information from you. If this data is necessary to fulfill the agreement, Siip will explicitly ask you to provide this information within the app.

Sharing from the Siip app

You decide who you want to share your information with. When scanning a QR code or accepting "rights" such as a ticket offered by one of our affiliated companies, the Siip app will show you which service is being offered and by whom. By giving your consent in the Siip app, the requested data is shared with the company so that they can verify whether you are eligible for access to their services. You may independently provide consent for the sharing of your personal data if you are 16 years of age or older. If you are under 16, you must have the consent of your parent(s) or guardian.

Withdraw consent

You can withdraw your consent for us to store your data in the Siip app at any time. You can do this via the delete account button within the Siip app itself. We will delete the data we initially obtained with your consent. After that, you will no longer be able to use the relevant services. You will also need to delete the Siip app from your device yourself.

5. Sharing your data with third parties

What we do not do

Siip does not provide your data to third parties for marketing, sales, and/or any purposes other than those described in this privacy statement.

What we do

At your request and with your consent, Siip facilitates the sharing of your data with affiliated companies for identification and verification purposes, allowing that company to grant you access to their services. Only companies and organizations that use Siip's services belong to this group.
You can read more about these types of service providers below.

Our service providers

We cannot simply give your personal data to other parties; there are rules for this. We only work with companies that provide guarantees regarding security and privacy. This is what we mean by 'trusted by Siip'. The services offered by these providers are subject to that company's own privacy policy.

Competent public bodies/authorities

By law, Siip is required to provide your data to third parties in certain cases. Our regulators, such as the Authority for Consumers and Markets, the Tax and Customs Administration, the Public Prosecution Service, and other government agencies, may request your personal data from us. The law specifies when we must provide this information. This includes, for example, providing data in the context of a criminal investigation.

6. On what basis do we process your personal data?

We cannot simply request and use your personal data. The law stipulates that this is only permitted if there is a 'legal basis for processing'. This means we only ask you to share your data if one or more of the following reasons apply:

Agreement

You may use the (trusted by) Siip app for personal use if you have a smartphone and a valid ID. Once you have downloaded the Siip app and accepted the terms and conditions, we have an agreement for your use of the Siip app. We require some personal data to process requests for access/identification. You can easily verify your identity in the Siip app using your ID. Your data only leaves your smartphone if you explicitly consent to it. For example, when you enter into an agreement with an affiliated company, such as purchasing a (festival) ticket or making a hotel booking.

Necessary for the performance of the agreement

Some personal data may be necessary to provide our services. This means that if you choose not to share this data, we may be unable to provide the service.

Legal basis

Sometimes the law requires certain data to be recorded and stored. An example of this is the legally required guest register when staying at a hotel.

Consent

To use your profile in the Siip account, we need additional information from you to enable the app to provide specific services from a company that requires this data. You can provide this additional information yourself. For example, your mobile phone number. This data is stored by us on your smartphone for your use of the Siip app. We verify that you actually have access to the mobile phone number by sending an SMS and/or a verification email.

We also ask for your consent to provide personal data to an affiliated company so that you can use that company's specific services. We only share your personal data with an affiliated company if you have given us your consent to do so. You can read more about this under 'Using data with your consent'.

7. Other information disclosure

We may send you push notifications to keep you updated on Siip services. Examples include:

You can disable these notifications at any time via the Siip app settings or your smartphone settings.

8. Security and retention of your personal data

We do our utmost to protect your data as effectively as possible:

We retain your mobile number and/or email address for as long as you use Siip services and have the app installed.

9. Changes and contact

Siip continues to develop and optimize its services. As a result, this Privacy Statement may be updated. You will be informed of any changes the next time you open the app.

Contact person
